My name is Latacha Ramos and I am one of the recipients of the Central Arkansas Development Council’s Single Parent Scholarship. Being a single mother of two girls, Mya is 14 years old and Claire is 5 years old, is a great privilege but I found myself struggling to pay the bills and give them the things that every parent wants their child to have. I knew that the only way I would ever be able to better my life and the lives of my girls was to go back to school and earn my degree.
Open House at CADC Benton Head Start/ABC will be held on Thursday, May 4th from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. The public is invited to stop by and visit the facility located at 321 Edison Avenue. Local Saline County Woman, Sheila Speer, will be receiving her BA Degree on May 13, 2017 from UALR as a Summa Cum Laude. She was very appreciative of the assistance she had received from Central Arkansas Development Council through the Utility Assistance program and the Saline County Single Parent Scholarship Program as demonstrated in the following e-mail: “Hey Garry! I hope all is well on your end. This last semester has been a crazy one, but I see the light at the end of the tunnel.
